Ribby Hall Village has been a long-time client of Gauged Solutions’, having worked with their senior management team and front-line staff, for over 8 years.

Ribby Hall Village is a family-run luxury 5 star Visit Britain holiday village park near Lancashire’s Fylde Coast which occupies a 100 acre site providing:

  • 183 self-catering cottages and pine lodges as well as 300 privately owned holiday homes;
  • An extensive range of indoor sport/leisure activities including swimming, aerobics, gymnastics, basketball, body zorbing, fencing, squash and badminton;
  • A large range of outdoor sport/leisure activities and facilities including fishing, boating, segway, walking, climbing, tennis, cycling, archery and bowls;
  • A state-of-the-art health club including two swimming pools, extensive gym, sauna and steam rooms and dance studios ;
  • Dedicated children’s facilities including a playground, nursery and crèche;
  • A luxury Spa Hotel providing sophisticated dining and accommodation as well as a variety of health and wellbeing treatments;
  • Conference, wedding and banqueting facilities to cater for a comprehensive calendar of adult, family, child and corporate entertainment; and
  • Ten bars and eateries for holiday guests and day visitors to enjoy including well-known brands including Starbucks and Papa John’s.
  • As such, their activities present potential risks to their guests, but also to their staff and contractors. Construction, maintenance, refurbishment and gardening activities continue throughout the year which have to be managed in such a way as to not impact or infringe upon the guests or expose them to risks;

In recent years Gauged Solutions has worked alongside their senior management in developing a resilient management system and staff training, which has resulted in significant achievements:

  • A Safety at Heart behavioural-based safety programme leading to a positive workplace culture;
  • Over 40 members of staff attaining IOSH Managing Safely;
  • Bespoke training courses including managing contractors, leading safety by example and incident investigation;
  • All 11 departments achieving or exceeding their minimum internal audit score;
  • A reduction by 75% in the severity of incidents;
  • A reduction of insurance premiums, despite the growth of the business;
  • Consistent 5 Star Food Safety Standards from the local authority;
  • Royal Life Saving Society awarding 100% compliance in relation to our swimming and life-guard facilities;
  • Being both a NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard) and First Aid approved training centres;
  • The status as one of only four 5 Star holiday villages in the UK from Visit England;
  • Not only successfully completing the 2 yearly Audit by UK Active (the professional body that regulates all health clubs in the UK) but being awarded Health Club of the Year and Regional (Northern) Fitness Award;
  • All external restaurants passing their own annual external quality, health and safety audits with scores of 95%+; And
  • ROSPA compliance for indoor and outdoor play areas; andsuccessful Ofsted audit on nursery facilities;

This culminated in the award of the prestigious British Safety Council 5 Star Occupational Health and Safety Award for 2015 and Sword of Honour.

In 2019 Ribby Hall Village is working towards attaining ISO45001 along with further expansion of the site and we look forward to working with them to achieve their aims;
