In 2016 Gauged Solutions provided health and safety resources in Scotland to assist in the safe installation of new towers and overhead lines and also in Yorkshire for the renewal and replacement of overhead lines.

The projects faced several difficulties, including inclement weather, previous accidents and serious breaches of safety rules, giving concerns to the overall client, National Grid. A number of the working teams were from the EU meaning different standards of safety culture and behaviours were in evidence and contributing to confusion, uncertainty and safety concerns.

Integrating with the relevant teams, including UK and EU nationals, and swiftly gaining the trust and support of both management and workers by being actively involved on the sites (getting cold and wet), and coaching the teams on procedures and expectations, resulted in improved safety compliance (0 accidents thereafter), improved overall performance as well as a returned confidence with National Grid.
