Two years ago Sita UK commissioned Gauged Solutions to help design and develop a bespoke behavioural based safety programme to be rolled out across the whole of the UK business operations.
The programme was named “Safety In Mind” – a name thought up by one of the employees. A very good one we AT Gauged Solutions thought.
The launch of Safety In Mind comprised all of the leadership staff from the respective sites undergoing a two day safety leadership training programme covering:
- Rapport Building
- Effective Communication and team working
- Understanding behaviour
- How to create a coaching environment
The site operational personnel also undertook some on site training covering , what would be expected from them, how they can get involved and what to expect from the programme.
Earlier this year Safety in Mind won the Northern Ireland WISH Ambassador award.
Chris Beddoes the Regional Health And Safety Manager received the award on behalf of SUEZ Environment.
The WISHNI award was presented by Arlene Foster, Enterprise Trade And Investment Minister, OBE, WISHNI, after Chris submitted examples of how the business manages Health And Safety through the Safety In Mind Programme .
