Each year, Gauged Solutions review their IOSH Managing Safely courses ran during that year, and look to reward and recognise the top performing delegate.
The IOSH Managing Safely course is a flexible programme for managers and supervisors in any sector, and any organisation. It brings managers up to speed on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams.
Managing safely won’t turn learners into health and safety experts – but it will give them the knowledge and tools to tackle the health and safety issues they’re responsible for. Importantly – it brings home why health and safety is such an essential part of their job.
The course is divided into 8 core modules including:-
- Introducing managing safely
- Assessing risks
- Controlling risks
- Understanding responsibilities
- Understanding hazards
- Investigating incidents
- Measuring performance
- Protecting our environment
The course is completed when the delegates have successfully passed a multi choice exam paper and a work based project.
2014 saw Lorna Macleod and Melisa Jenkins, both of Ribby Hall Village in Lancashire score exactly the same overall scores, both missing out on top marks by a fraction.
Their award was presented to them on behalf of Glenn Ridsdale – Managing Director Gauged Solutions by Mr Paul Harrison - CEO of Ribby Hall Village and Mr John McIllwham – Head of Safety and Maintenance Ribby Hall Village, both are both pictured with the ladies.
During 2014 saw Gauged Solutions deliver the IOSH Managing Safely course to a cross section of industries including oil and gas, energy, marine, transport leisure and construction, and the achievement of Lorna and Melisa reflects the work and effort they put into the course and their respective projects.
On behalf of Glenn Ridsdale and all at Gauged Solutions – a big well done to both Lorna and Melisa for their outstanding achievement.
