Gauged Solutions And Suez Work Together To Enhance Their Safety In Mind Behavioural Programme

In 2013, Suez (Formerly Sita UK) approached Gauged Solutions to support them with the ongoing development of their safety leaders within the business.  The concept of a behavioural approach to safety was very new to Suez, and as such approached Gauged Solutions, knowing that with the global expertise we have in introducing behavioural safety programmes across a diverse range of industry sectors, we were the perfect fit for their business.

The behavioural programme, later named (very aptly), “Safety In Mind” was introduced and every person within the business holding a leadership position embarked on a two day safety leadership training programme with Gauged Solutions.  The “shop floor” staff have also been integral to the success of this programme, and as such were also included in a comprehensive training workshop, highlighting what “Safety In Mind” meant to them, and the different approach to managing safety the business was adopting.

The programme is still ongoing and has a salient focus on positive engagement and how to engender a culture of coaching, providing positive feedback and using positive questioning techniques with members of staff at all levels within the business. Gauged Solutions have been delivering the programme throughout the length and breadth of the UK to over 700 members of staff, and the feedback received has been truly excellent.

Building on the successes of the programme, Suez wanted to ensure there was no resting on their laurels and have asked Gauged Solutions to carry out some further interactive on site refresher training to further enhance the skills of their safety leaders. The delegates have really appreciated the personal one to one feedback on their intervention techniques and pointers they have been provided for ongoing improvement.
