This month, Gauged Solutions were selected from a number of consultancy and training providers to deliver the first of a series of risk management training sessions to our new client Rohes Corde, located on route of the beautiful Speyside Way. Our initial undertaking was to deliver a bespoke training programme related to risk management, encompassing both process and occupational safety.
The Rothes Cord Ltd. Plant is a biomass-fired CHP plant located in Rothes, Speyside, Scotland with an annual fuel input of 115 000 tons of wet draff from local whisky distilleries and 60000 tons of clean uncontaminated wood chips. The plant utilises a combination of whisky distillery by-product (draff) and wood chips and generates 7.2 MWe – enough to supply 9000 homes with electricity. The cogeneration plant also supplies approx. 12 t/h of process steam to an evaporation plant. The CHP plant saves 64000 tons of CO2/year.
We were delighted that the courses we delivered were very well received. The overall feedback was excellent, and we look forward to later in the year when we are scheduled to work with Rothes Corde senior executives looking at safety resilience and legal interpretation.
